Helmer is engineer turned strategy consultant, turned climate tech entrepreneur, turned impact venture capital investor. He co-founded and led two start-ups as CEO in biomass production and in online sales of solar panels. He is founding partner at Rubio Impact Ventures, an impact venture capital fund investing in early-stage startups that aim to deliver positive impact on people and planet and generate commercial returns. Helmer leads the planet team and serves on the board of companies such as Sympower, RIFT and Taylor. Rubio has EUR 150mln AuM and has invested in 45 start-ups to-date. Rubio links 100% of its carried interest (variable remuneration) to the impact its investees realize.
