After completing his undergraduate degree in Economics and Postgraduate degree in Law (finishing on the Deans’ Merit List) at the University of Cape Town, Rhys started his career as a trainee solicitor / candidate attorney at Baker McKenzie in South Africa. After completing his articles, Rhys moved to ENSAfrica in Johannesburg where he practiced for another two and a half years specialising in corporate M&A. In 2018, Rhys decided to leave law to pursue a new career path and moved to the UK. It was there, towards the end of 2019, that he was introduced to Nnamdi and, upon seeing the pain point Definely was solving for, looked to join immediately. Rhys joined as the first member of the commercial team when Definely had one customer and was bringing in £240 in annual revenue. At Definely, Rhys is responsible for managing the commercial functions incorporating Marketing, Sales and Customer Success, and ensuring Definely’s GTM is executed against and commercial objectives are continuing to be reached.
