Sahil Zaman is a Partner at McCarthy Tétrault and the leader of MT❯Forge, a division of the firm focused on delivering high-volume transactional legal work. By combining advanced AI tools, scalable legal talent, and the firm's expertise, his team provides efficient, consistent, and cost-predictable legal services. Before joining the firm, Sahil was the co-founder and CEO of Closing Folders, a legal technology company that developed one of the first comprehensive legal transaction management (LTM) platforms. Under his leadership, Closing Folders became the leading LTM provider to law firms across North America before being acquired by iManage, a global software company. At iManage, Sahil continued to lead the LTM business, driving significant growth and international expansion. He also advised a rapidly-scaling European legal AI company on its North American entry strategy. In each of these roles, Sahil honed his skills in marrying simple processes with complex technology to deliver exceptional outcomes for lawyers and their clients. His experience in automating closings has sharpened his ability to identify bottlenecks, reimagine workflows, and propose smarter legal operations. With a bias toward usable solutions, he strives to deliver outcomes that matter: reduced cost, accelerated timelines, and more predictable risk management. Sahil earned a B.Comm. from the University of Calgary and a J.D. from Western University. He is called to the bar in Ontario.
