Director of AI & Automation
NetDocuments
During his beginnings with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Pennsylvania, Scott Kelly realized the potential of leveraging technology to reduce redundancies in workflow and help legal professionals to automate and scale. In the years since, Scott has proved to be equal parts entrepreneur and problem solver with a passion for creating scalable, positive change in the legal system. As Co-Founder of Afterpattern, Scott developed marketplace technology for the administration of hundreds of thousands of legal referrals. He then launched a "no-code" platform to help legal professionals scale their impact with workflow and document automation. Following its successful reception, Scott's team joined forces with NetDocuments, relaunching the technology as PatternBuilder within their document management system. In addition to his contribution to the legal tech community, Scott has a long record of volunteering at legal aid nonprofits and contributing to A2J initiatives, including volunteering at the Legal Aid Society of NYC, serving for a year as a member of the Emerging Leaders Council of the Legal Services Corporation, the primary funder of civil legal aid in the United States, and serving as a board member of the nonprofit Upsolve, which provides free financial and legal education to two million individuals per year.
