Stuart is a co-founder of Table13, a strategy consultancy working with law firms and legal teams to transform their legal service delivery. After previous roles that included include Director of Practice Development, Knowledge & Innovation at Dentons, Director of Knowledge for the Global M&A Practice at Baker McKenzie and as Director of Consulting at Elevate, Table13 brings to clients what they call “applied thinking in context” - the context being their unique understanding of the legal sector from the operational and technological perspectives. With a combination of computational understanding, legal business experience and tech ecosystem awareness, they are experts in this form of applied strategic thinking. Table13's perspectives on the interplay between strategy, knowledge, technology and operational change in the sector help clients boost their growth, profitability and development. Born in Ethiopia, with dual British/Nigerian heritage, Stuart is a trained Mental Health First Aider, an active champion of diversity, equality and inclusion and is currently on the boards of various Africa-focused educational charities. He has been on the board of his local community arts charity, his university alumni association and is a past chair of the advisory board to the Social Mobility Foundation. Stuart is also a Visiting Lecturer in the Faculty of Law at Oxford where he set up and chairs the Industry Mentor Group for the University’s postgraduate Law & Computer Science Programme. A LawTech UK mentor, he has MAs from Oxford and SOAS as well as an MBA from Henley Business School and will be commencing a DPhil (Oxford PhD) in October. He is a regular speaker on the knowledge, innovation and operational change circuit, a contributing author to Legal Due Diligence in International M&A Transactions - A Practitioner's Guide (Kästle/Svernlöv eds, 2022), quoted in Professional Services Leadership Handbook: How to lead a professional services firm in a new age of competitive disruption (Beddow, Kent, Furner & Clark 2017) and was the editor of Baker McKenzie’s International Joint Ventures Handbook (1st ed. Oct 2015) and Global M&A Handbook (1st ed. Mar 2015)."
